"Big Shoulders" is a reference to one of Chicago's nicknames as the City of Big Shoulders. Being a daily commuter, user of Chicago's many forms of public transit, and an avid urban walker, I am able to witness the daily changes throughout the cityscape. Over time, I began to document the signs of construction and deconstruction throughout America's third largest city, and use this documentation practice as a way to meditate on the ways we are constantly building and re-building our lives as humans.
